In the autumn of 2012, a five year restauration began intendended to renovate and restore the panels of the Lam Gods. It's necessary to prevent further hardening of old layers of varnish. The panels will be treated in the Museum of Fine Arts in Ghent in different stages. Throughout the whole process, the panels of the 'Lam Gods' that are not being restored at that moment, are still open to see in the Sint-Baafskathedraal for the public. You'll be able to admire the other panels at the Museum of Fine Arts, where you can see the team in charge of the restauration in action.
