Soviet Army Monument
From time to time talk turns to the fate of this tall monument, crowned with an 8-metre high sculpture and bronze figurative compositions around the base dedicated to the Soviet troops who entered Bulgaria at the end of WWII.

Tsar Osvoboditel Monument
This fine bronze statue portrays the Russian Tsar Alexander II on horseback and is a gesture of gratitude to the Russian Tsar and his troops who finally liberated Bulgaria in 1878 from Ottoman rule.

Vassil Levski
An obelisk by the Czech Architect Molar marks the spot where the revolutionary Vassil Levski was hanged in 1873. This was the first monument to be erected after liberation.
