Space Oddity
If you frequently fly KLM and collected many Air Miles, you can soon exchange them for a rather unusual outing; the Netherlands’ largest airline company will start offering trips into space from 2014 onward. Normal tickets are available too, but unfortunately not for a normal price; you will have to cough up 72,500 euro for this incredible flight. Competitor Virgin thinks they’ll be able to offer a similar trip already in 2012, with a rented spacecraft, the Lynx. Here too, the price-buster is clearly cheaper than our Dutch pride. A return into space at Virgin is ‘but’ twenty thousand dollars per ticket. From a height of one hundred kilometres – according to experts, the beginning of space – you can take out your camera and photograph all the In Your Pocket cities in one, for the ultimate ‘been there, done that’. Or perhaps the hole in the ozone layer…
