Pilsen prides itself on its European Capital of Culture 2015 title. The European Capitals of Culture is one of the European Union’s most successful projects, a highly prestigious event that is the cultural equivalent of the Olympics. Residents of the cities and regions always get to enjoy the legacy of the event not only that one year, but especially in the years thereafter. The project was created with the aim of contributing to bringing the peoples of Europe closer together.
Due to its easy access and existing and planned infrastructure, Pilsen has creative potential and is set represent the Czech Republic in 2015 with dignity.
