I'm French and I was in vacation in Netherland. I was visiting Utrecht when I saw this comic shop. I decided to enter it to probably buy some comic books without a precise idea. I'm a huge fan of comics so I took my time to find something that pleases me. Less than 15 minutes after I came in, the seller asked me if I was looking for something. I said : "Just watching" because I had no particular idea of what to buy at this moment (probably a DC or Marvel comic book). He answered me : "You're not here to watch, you're here to buy !". I was so shocked that I left the shop immediatly ! Every time I come in a comic shop, I buy something ! With this seller, I didn't want to buy anything in his shop. On this link : strips-tekoop.nl/pietsnot.html , there is a lot of comment (in Dutch) saying that the owner of this comic shop is not cool with clients. It's so true !!!

bizarre experience in the Utrecht Stripwinkel Piet Snot. Utrecht has three comic shops. Except Piet Snot are these the Strip en Lectuurshop and Blunder. All three of them sit on the Oudegracht. I buy comics very often at all three stores. Regular also more expensive and special editions. Lately at Piet Snot I was in doubt about a special edition of a book by Tardi. It was second hand looked slightly tattered but at the price sticker was still the highest possible prize. I stood there thinking what to do. Just when I decided to buy it anyway the owner (Arjen) came to me. "That it was not the intention that I read books in his shop and that I had to leave." Bewildered because I had in the past already several hundred euro's transfered to his shop I have left the building with the express intention never to come back when he me 'friendly' adding that there are two shops were where I had to go go. As if I did not already know. Apparently he does not need money from his shop he may have a scary brain disease or business goes too well with him I do not know. In any case he lost a customer and if I can contribute to a greater number of customers disappearing then I won't hesitate. To contrast this shop both the Strip en Lectuurshop as Blunder are perfect. Blunder has by far the best range of all three but Miep of the Strip and Lectuurshop is charming. Walther
