Bauschänzli

Once a part of the fortification of the city towards the lake, these days the Bauschänzli peninsula makes itself useful as a beer garden. Get a big beer (a grosses) at the self-service counter and a bratwurst (veal sausage) with potato salad and enjoy the shade of the big old trees (where they are still standing) and the view over the river. Different bands plays hit music (15:00 - 17:00, 18:30 - 22:00, Fri & Sat 19:00 - 22:30) for the mostly fifty-plus guests who hit the dance floor. There is a served area where not only the food but also the prices are more sophisticated. Brass bands for the morning pint on Sunday mornings (11:00 - 13:00).
