The 'American-style' Regency is one of few self-proclaimed three-star hotels in Albania actually living up to the standards. With good rooms and a quiet corner location in the city centre, it's often the hotel of choice for business travellers, though it remains firmly Albanian, witness the ubiquitous chain-smoking men hanging out in the lobby bar.   One might add that the service is positively diametral to the low income of the staff, from reception to cleaning lady and the café. Only good experiences, they were the main reason to return to the place when being in town.
