Decorated with neo-Renaissence and topped with a zig-zag roof, Shkodra's prettiest tower is hidden and inaccesible behind the concrete blocks lining Rr. Barleti. The tower is part of the medieval residence of the Gjon Markagjoni family, which was declared a cultural monument in 1973. It's still a private residence, but persistent sightseers can catch a glimpse of the tower by walking down Rr. 11 Janari and peering over the fences.
