Bonaparte

The most upmarket wine bar in town comes highly recommended by online Tirana In Your Pocket readers. On the first floor of the building, overlooked by a portrait of Napoleon, visitors can get sozzled on a dizzying array of quality French wines, cognac and over 30 types of whiskey. Exclusive Armagnac brandy is also served at €1500 a bottle or a mere €150 per glass. Snacks are served, as are Cuban cigars that may be smoked here. Pity about the smoke.

I have been to Bonaparte a few times. It has a nice and warmly ambience. But it's a pity that smoking is allowed. If you want to enjoy drinking wine there it's uncomfortable as it's small and the tobacco smoke is annoying.

I have been to Bonaparte 3 times and I like it. They serve cold plates with French cheese and Spanish ham to accompany the French wine.Last time I sat at the bar I saw that they don't have ready made plates but they cut and prepare the food as the order comes. I am from Spain and the ham was of superior quality. Next time with my friend Alvaro we will go again since they serve the famous Tapa there. It's a pity they don't have Spanish wine!

The Bonaparte Wine bar warmly receives guests and offers very good quality French products (armagnac, cognac, wine, cheeses, foie gras etc) with competent staff who have the trust of the clientèle. A place to discover.

I agree with this bar having quality wines. I have been to Bonaparte several times with colleagues and friends and we’ve been the only ones there. The service we received has been very slow, the accompanying plates we ordered were stale. If they can get new management, I believe I would go back and enjoy the experience better.

The ambiance at Bonaparte Wine bar is warm, personal, romantic and tres chic. It is conceived as an exciting urban destination to experience and explore the fascinating world of wine and spirits and it’s a number one destination for wine connoisseurs. The wine list is truly impressive. Servers and bartenders are well versed in the wine collection at Bonaparte, offering the guests an extensive and multifaceted range of choices. During the day, Bonaparte also operates as a gourmet coffee house, where you may enjoy a variety of coffee drinks, tea, fresh juices and traditional French pastries. It is by far the supreme wine bar in Tirana!

EDITOR - Now that Bonaparte's friends have commented, perhaps some other clients can add some feedback?!

Yes it is true, and besides Armagnac you can have the best French wines such as Chateau Latour, Chateau Cheval Blanc, Chateau Margaux, Pape Clement, Chateau Figeac etc. Tapas are served at happy hour and Jamon Pata Negra, a delicious product from Spain, is on the 'jamonera'.
