Monument for the Righteous Gentiles of Albania

During World War Two, thousands of Jews from across Europe fled to Albania to avoid Nazi persecution, and together with Bulgaria, this was the only European country where all of them survived thanks to the local citizens. A bilingual plaque on the corner of the National Museum lists the names of 33 Albanians who helped shelter Jews, and there's empty space for adding the many names that are yet unknown.
