Yamato

Albania's first Japanese restaurant is so well-hidden, unmarked above the Euromax supermarket in the QTU City mall, that several locals have written to us to say it does not exist. But it does, and serves pretty decent sushi, sashimi, tempura and teriyaki dishes made in the open kitchen - though the exact menu depends on which fish were netted that morning.

Hello everyone Yamato is not in the QTU city mall but above the Euromax supermarket in front of Vesa Center near the 'Libri Universitar'. Enjoy!

Nice restaurant. Good decor and a nice Albanized-Japanese-menu.

Can you tell me the phone number to order something from home?

EDITOR: Ersi, for the convenience of our readers, we publish the phone number on this website and in our print guide too. Look again.

We usually order take out from the office and have tried yaki soba and sushi and it was really good. I will visit soon the restaurant to have a proper sushi experience at Yamato. A bit pricey for my opinion.

I go there twice a week (for those of you that do not know your own city, near the Libri Universitar).

I am happy to see the arrival of sushi to Tirana, and it was really tasty and fresh when I went there - the prices might be a bit hefty for Albania but sushi is quite expensive everywhere in the world. Recommend it!

Yamato is the best Asian restaurant in Albania! There are only two of this kind, what a pity. Best price, best service, best sushi ever! Thank you guys!

Aleni is right, there is no Yamato in Tirana...maybe in Fier or Vlora...

EDITOR: Guys, please, trust the foreigners on this point. There is a Yamato in central Tirana (for nearly a year now... how well do you know your own city?). We clearly remember eating sushi there. We even have the menu. Just go to the address listed or call to check for yourself if you don't believe us.

The Yamato is not in Tirana...!! Maybe there is a QTU City in Vlora where you can get sushi but there is none in Tirana.

EDITOR: Alen, you can trust the experts, there really is a Japanese restaurant in Tirana at this address. Maybe you're confused with the QTU mall along the highway - the restaurant is inside the smaller QTU city centre mall.

Yamato had amazing sushi and wonderful service.
