Minsk

Slow and surly service aside, Golden Coffee could be a lot worse. Basically two floors of budget sophistication, the pizzas are surprisingly good, the espressos are exactly as espressos should be, there’s free wireless internet and the owners have won us over completely with the addition of menus in English. All in all a decent spot for unpretentious food in the evening or a pick-me-up coffee during the day. Also at Shopping Centre Expobel.

Golden Coffee Club has arrived and the service here is shocking compared to the one in Latvia. Well shocking is a bit harsh from me but the service was slow especially when it came to dishing out the menus and taking our orders. We sat outside as it was warmish and took a while to study the menus. At least they were in English (as well as Russian). Once the orders were given (we were here for lunch) the drinks came out quite quickly and I ordered a pot of breakfast tea. Still the waitress thought it was strange that I was ordering it with milk (I am English!). The food took a while to cook but we weren't in any rush but when it did come it was tasty plenty of it and it filled me up. There was a problem with the bill (becoming quite the norm here) but the problem was quickly resolved and I left quite happy.
