Short term apartment rental can be a hell of a lot cheaper than springing for a hotel, especially for longer stays. This option comes with its own risks though - a lot of the agents out there will happily take your money just to put you in touch with an apartment owner, who charges his own fee. Also, make sure the agency can get you that all-important visa registation stamp - usually provided by hotels.
