Belfast & Northern Ireland

Take the 90min crossing to Campbeltown on Scotland’s Kintyre peninsula or 1hr trip to Port Ellen on the beautiful Isle of Islay from the North Antrim town of Ballycastle.

The 11m long RIB boats have centrally heated, fully enclosed cabins and seating for 12 passengers (no cars but bicycles go free). All journeys must be booked in advance.

Once in picturesque Campbeltown, attractions include a whisky distillery, pottery and heritage centre, cute shops, pubs and cafes and some great accommodation.

Known as 'The Queen of the Hebrides', the beautiful Isle of Islay is synonymous with Scottish whisky, so you can explore its many distilleries or simply immerse yourself in its scenery and history.

Ferry tickets also serve as a free 24hr pass on West Coast Motors, the local Kintyre bus services. If you plan on travelling beyond Campbeltown, Kintyre Express can arrange coach transfers to your chosen destination. Boats can also be chartered for private crossings and sailings seven days a week.
