Borders
There are 20 main border crossings into the Czech Republic and if you are driving, you need to buy a road stamp to legally drive on the highways here. These stamps, to be affixed to the windscreen, can be bought from petrol stations and often from a booth at the border.
Now that the Czech Republic is a member of that great happy family, the European Union, crossing borders is no longer much of an issue. The Czech Republic is bordered on all sides by EU member states, so queues are minimal and passport checking desultory. If there is a great line of lorries waiting, you can breezily pass them by and go to the front of the line in your car.
