On 31 March and 1 April 2010, the Hotel Europe in Sarajevo will host the first annual Fine Wine & Good Food Salon - which, as the name suggests, will promote premium wine and food products from the region and abroad all in the name of the "Slow Food" movement. The first event of its kind in Sarajevo, it has been organised by the International Slow Food Organisation and local wine club In Vino Veritas and is under the patronage of the Slovenian Embassy and the Slovenian Tourist Board. The event resembles similar fairs such as the Salone del Gusto in Turin or VinDel in Maribor. For two spring days, producers of high quality wines, foods and beverages, and professionals from the food industry will be able to share their products, services and expertise, while the general public will have the opportunity not only to taste and try everything that is on offer, but also attend a series of educational workshops. Of course it's not all about pleasure, as the main purpose of any such event is to provide a platform for professionals to promote themselves and establish new ties for future cooperation. The Hotel Europe is located in the centre of Sarajevo, in the historic Baščaršija district, and all presenters and attendees of the salon are eligible to receive special discounted rates. The event is open from 17:00 - 22:00 on both days and admission for the general public is €5, plus the cost of a tasting glass which is yours to keep.
