BBI Centar

The crème de la crème of Sarajevo's shopping centres, it's 43000m² of capitalism gone wild and the only modern mall in the centre of town. Opened back in April it took the place of the older Sarajka shopping centre that was one of the symbols of Sarajevo prior to the war. The architecture both inside and out is quite impressive - if perhaps not to everyone's taste - and the selection of shops is the widest you'll find anywhere in the city. Even if you're not looking to shop the five floors of air conditioned asymmetry can be an attractive place to wander during the hot summer months.

    You might want to add some info on the Alta shopping centre it's been there for a year now. The supermarket is definitely the best stocked one in town and there are a few decent shops as well.

    The supermarket in the basement has a better vegetable selection than most others
