Nightlife

Bang in the middle of the Balkans, tourists are welcome to experience a unique yet 'contagious' sub-genre of music called Turbo Folk, which originated in Serbia during the early 1990s and infested all corners of Ex-Jugosalvia.  You can't avoid them even if you try.  These folk clubs or 'folkotekas' are plenty.
Having said that, there are a variety of good bars and clubs that sway in different musical directions; rock music and electronic being popular amongst the young crowd.
If you're looking for a quiet drink with collegues or friends, wine cellars or 'vinarnas' are a great option for sipping local and international wines.
Regulary, there are live concerts about town (especially in the main square in front of Boska Shopping Centre) where you can catch some well known local bands and musicians.
A 'Tamburasi' night is also recommeded for those that wish to listen to traditional live folk music; played with a 'tambura', a traditional musical instrument.
