Berlin In Your Pocket

The Christmas markets have stuck again, spreading out over Berlin to serve us with mulled wine, wooden toys and sausage – there's no better way to get into the holiday spirit.

For classical music aficionados, Sir Simon Rattle has the Berliner Philharmoniker play American classics such as Gershwin in the days before New Years Eve, which itself also will be celebrated by around a million people in Tiergarten park. Theatre aficionados are also well served this winter, as the Berliner Festspiele's Spielzeit’ Europa theatre festival hits the stage of their Charlottenburg theatre. Renowned international directors and actors will descend on Berlin to perform cutting-edge theatre – and it's yours to sample.
