Kyiv In Your Pocket

President Yushchenko is a very wise politician. In the final weeks of May he announced that the country’s economy was nearing collapse with a 23% decline in the GDP. The timing of this announcement was ingenious! As June approaches, locals have nothing on their minds except basking like Harbour Seals in the sun, shashlyk barbeques, chilling at the dacha and partying like there’s no tomorrow. The much anticipated lynching of Ukraine’s politicos will have to wait until autumn. That said, we at In Your Pocket recommend that you do as the locals do: forget about the wretched economy and revel in summer!
