Senj’s social calendar gets into full swing during the summer season, when an absorbing selection of family-oriented, cultural and party events brings a stream of visitors into the town. If you count sporting occasions such as the Biciklijada and Senj Regatta, then there’s something going on in town almost every weekend. Biggest and best known of the tourist-season bashes is the Senj Carnival, which sees a joyful summer re-enactment of the Shrovetide masquerades that take place throughout the Mediterranean in February.
