Polače


Is a site of cultural and historic significance where a Roman settlement existed in the 1st century and an impressive palace with fortifications, two ancient basilicas from the 5th century, baths and gun arsenal and shipyards were traces left behind by the Romans. The palace’s economy included salt production, olive oil, wine, honey, meat, cheese and fish. This palace complex is the second largest on the Adriatic, coming second to Diocletian’s palace complex in Split.
