This is where you get your full Slavonian experience. Don’t be surprised if someone at the next table asks the waiter to turn up the tamburica music and then sings along. Freshwater fish are prominent on the menu and mounted on the wall, but you’ll also find plenty of other traditional dishes perfect after a long day plowing the fields or hiking across them: venison with onions and paprika, čobanac, švargl (pig’s head meat, skin, ears, tongue, heart, boiled in a stomach and pressed into sausage - yum). But don’t expect pizza.
