On the occasion of a donation of the Gervais family to the Museum, this exhibition is a celebration of the life of Drago Gervais (1094-1957), a poet and playwright. Writing in the local “čakavian” dialect but performed in many countries and many languages, Gervais did much to bring life to the cultural scene in Rijeka and the surrounding regions. A comedian and humanist as well as a poet, Gervais was not afraid to turn the public gaze onto the pressing social issues of the day and encourage the masses to action.
