Fans of adrenaline sports will be thrilled to hear that in Split this April they will have the chance to take in the thrills, the spills and the glamour of the Croatian Grand Prix of the Sea. This year for the first time, Split is hosting the first of the seven races of the Powerboat P1 World Championship. Split's waterfront promenade, the Riva, will be turned into an arena for watching custom-built powerboats racing on the open sea at speeds of up to 200 km/h. The Riva will also be turned into party central, with marquees hosting concerts, DJs and competitions, and you'll be able to try your hand on racing simulators. And the whole thing is free and open to the public. The event takes place at the same time as the Croatia Boat Show. Nautical sports fans, take out your pencils now and jot the dates in your diary: 16-19 April.
