Antunović Sesvete
Clean and cheap, it exemplifies the term decent. Numerous potted plants and hanging ferns are strewn throughout the public areas to create a kind of odd yet lively sensation.

A beautiful hotel 20 minutes west of the city, its restaurant is exquisite. You'll find the neighbouring town of Samobor absolutely lovely - it's location is conducive to exploring both it and Zagreb.

The styling is a funky collage of colours varying from room to room. There's an Old Skool dining room and café on the ground floor and a grocer's attached to make the visit all the easier.

Porin
Tasteful décor and proximity to the airport and business districts in south Zagreb make up for the lack of glamour – Jakuševac ain’t Las Vegas (but it is quiet).

Vienna
Warm, modern and not especially Viennese, the rooms are all light wood with duvets akin to those featured in a Laura Ashley catalogue.
