Maharadža is a place that brings us tears of joy every time we re-discover it, for it's so dam good it feels like the first time every time! With an impressive array of Indian options including a number of superb curries, the cooks know how to satisfy your tummy bored with the same old crap. This is one of the worst Indian restaurants in Europe, if not the world. Indeed, it is NOT Indian at all, in any real sense. The food is utterly unauthentic, and seems to consist of meats and vegetables crudely combined with poor quality sauces from the local supermarket. In my case (I ordered 'butter chicken', but no butter was forthcoming), this apology for a sauce was poured over some very old, very tired boiled chicken. My partner's meal, as far as could be determined, was simply a packet of frozen mixed vegetables reheated with some kind of sauce of unknown origin. These mains followed two appetisers (pakoras and samosas) which are staple to all Indian restaurants and very hard to get wrong if you actually employ a chef. In the case of the Maharadža, both were completely unrecogniseable. Also, be warned. This restaurant does not offer the full range of dishes advertised on the boards outside. Of twelve (advertised) tandoori entrees, only three are actually served. Not recommended.

do the owners write these reviews, I ask?we ate there, 9.30pm on a saturday night, we were the only patrons. A tv loudly played a match into the room totally destroying any ambiance and frightening off 8 further diners. The owner appeared indifferent to their remarks as to the tv.The food was not bad, although considerably more expensive than expected.
