Hotel accommodation is likely the most frustrating shortcoming of the Croatian capital. Rooms, though admittedly very impressive in many cases, are supremely expensive. Budget options are available, though; you just need to know where to look. Ignore street signs with arrows pointing directions to hotels. They are pathological liars (generally) and steer you everywhere but to your evening abode.
