Geography

Praha is quite literally at heart of Europe. The Czech Republic occupies a total area of 78,866km2 of land - which is slightly smaller than South Carolina - of which only 58km2 is water.

It has no coastline but has total borders of 2,303km which is comprised of Austria 466km, Germany 810km, Poland 762km and Slovakia 265km. 

Prague is in Bohemia which is mainly plains and plateaux surrounded by low mountains. Moravia, where you'll find the Czech Republic's second largest city Brno, is wine and carp country with rolling hills and lakes. The two enjoy a healthy rivalry over which is the nicer part of the country to live in.

The highest point in the Republic is Snežka at 1602m; the lowest is the Labe (Elbe in German) river at 117m. The Vltava Moldau river runs for 30.9 km through Prague.
