Stretch out your tongue
The Czech language is an Indo-European language like English or French. But unlike those it is considered to be one of the three most difficult languages to learn in Europe. (After Finnish and Hungarian).
Every word can be spelt in 14 different ways, depending on how you are using it. In addition there is no standard structure to sentence construction. But on the good side, the letters themselves are pronounced the same way, so if you learn them you can normally make a stab at pronouncing Czech words. You will find that a lot of the older Czechs will speak German and Russian. Most Czechs in Prague will have picked up at least a smattering of English but outside of the capital it is not as common.
