Golden Sickle

A huge labyrinth of dorms, rooms and rather nice apartments around a picturesque courtyard comprise this 2004 award-winning hostel. Its central location somewhat justifies the relatively high prices. Note though that dorms are large and bathrooms limited if beds are full. Towels, sheets, storage and kitchen facilities provided.

Avoid it like the plague. The location is great and the beds and bathrooms adequate. However, we booked a double and got two bunk beds in a dorm; granted there was no-one else there, but it's not what we booked. On top of this, the manageress (i assume) initially said we could have the room for four days, but when we arrived said we could only have it for three (presumably because she subsequently booked in a larger group). We were told we would be provided alternative accomodation and transport to it. Both of which were bare-faced lies. She had no interest in helping us, prefering instead to chew the side of her coked-up face as she inform us of what a mad night she had had. Look elsewhere.
