Mobile phones

Mobile services in the Czech Republic are improving on an almost daily basis. There are three main service providers, all offering basically the same billing or pre-paid services and price. Vodafone (old Oskar) remains the cheapest, but it also has less coverage around the country. If you are here for a short time, pick up the combination SIM and pre-paid card for your phone. Cheap phones can be bought second hand, but you have no guarantee it'll work beyond tomorrow.
