Mexican & Tex-Mex
Tweet
Tex-Mex is a tad of a misnomer as most Mexican eateries here opt for the rather bland Czech-Mex version...

Amigos
The menu is enormous, amusing, and with some topless shots to keep you turning the pages. The spice in the air and eyes bodes well for chilli-ed authenticity.

Amores Perros
A mediocre addition to Prague’s Mexican choices, with uninspired décor and dishes that have resulted in its ambivalent ambience.

Banditos
More than just Mexican as their copy rightly claims; try the super sandwiches and slaw. The Tex-Mex and burger standards remain at good prices, along with an amazing all-day full breakfast.

Barracuda
We like fajitas to be too hot to be put on the plate. They don't do that at this downstairs restaurant, but they make a good pass at it.

Hacienda Mexicana
The restaurant is loud and not just on your ears. The décor is bright and in your face, and while you can disappear in the labyrinthine rooms, it may also mean the waiters can’t find you again.

Hombre del Mundo Mexicano
From the makers of Corleone Pizza comes this pseudo-Czech-Mex playing Sade, serving hit and miss meals and some mean cocktails.

Mama Lucy
Pasta and pizza share the same pages as enchiladas and burritos, but the large mains, just shy of authentic, seem to have put a smile on Lucy’s face so who cares if the various cuisines seem at odds.

Mezcal
The large portions of burritos, fajitas and steaks could use some help in the authenticity arena. The worn cabana furniture and neglected reed roofs that give shelter to bartenders and thirsty patrons make for a truly Mexican drinking experience.

Sonora
Tightly packed tables and immense popularity make Sonora a cosy spot where you will end up sharing your table, although the summer terrace may alleviate this.

Cantina
A warm and atmospheric Mexican, serving Texan-sized portions of decent grub and small swimming pool sized margaritas that slip down far too easily.
