Aran Islands

The three Aran Islands of Inis Mór (Big Island), Inis Meáin (Middle Island) and Inis Oirr (East Island) off the Galway coast are very popular tourist spots and that is no surprise - they are simply beautiful. Said to epitomise Ireland, they are yet quite distinctive on their own, with an isolated feel to them that somehow also encompasses the most heartwarming and welcoming aspects of Ireland. An Irish-speaking region (don't worry, they speak English too) full of charm and character, all three islands are jam-packed with natural beauty, famous geological formations, historical monuments and a unique linguistic and cultural heritage. If you want to see Ireland in a nutshell (or three), this is where to go.
