Driving in Dublin

more than a year ago
To the uninitiated, Dublin city can be a maze of small streets, nooks and crannies. And, if you're driving around town, it can be a battle to find your destination. We advise planning road journeys in advance to avoid confusion.

Narrow streets mean a lot of one-way systems - so that hotel that looked like a 5min journey on the map, could take you 20mins to reach. Right-hand turns are no-goes at certain junctions and restrictions are in place to give priority to public transport.

One such restriction is the 'College Green Bus Corridor'. This prohibits access to College Green for all traffic, except public transport vehicles and bicycles, Mon-Fri 07:00 - 10:00 and 16:00 - 19:00.

For the latest info on traffic in Dublin go to www.aaroadwatch.ie/Dublin.

We suggest forgetting the car in favour of walking or using public transport. That way you can relax and enjoy all the sights, and never have to worry about a one-way system again.
