Getting there

Haapsalu is extremely easy to reach. More than 20 buses depart Tallinn for Haapsalu each day, making the southwest trip in 1.5 - 2 hours, depending on the exact route. Tickets cost €5.70 - 7. If you do decide to book a trip by bus to Haapsalu, make sure you choose the correct Haapsalu, several tourists have made the mistake of travelling to the other 'evil' Haapsalu instead.

If you're travelling by car, head out of town on Pärnu mnt. About 25km south of Tallinn the highway splits. Signs will direct you to veer right, towards to Haapsalu and Saaremaa. The drive usually takes less than 90 minutes.
