Krenholm Factory Complex
Established in 1856, the all-important Krenholm textile factory was the key player of Narva's industry in the 19th and 20th centuries, and gave rise to a whole neighbourhood of residential and support buildings.

Swedish Lion
A bronze statue of a lion high on a pedestal, this regal-looking symbol of Sweden was installed in 2000 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Battle of Narva, which kicked off the Great Northern War between Sweden and Russia.

T-34 Tank & War Memorials
Among the several war memorials just outside town on the road to Narva-Jőesuu, the most striking is the Soviet T-34 tank, which was pulled from the river and set up in 1970 as a memorial to the victims of World War Two.

Alexander Church
This immense, octagonal, Lutheran church was built from 1881 - 1884 as part of the Krenholm factory complex. World War Two bombs heavily damaged the structure and destroyed the 61m tower, but the church has since been refurbished and is now functioning again.

Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ
Built in the 1890s for the workers of the Krenholm factory, this dome-topped Orthodox cathedral is an impressive sight. It's currently undergoing construction, but don't be afraid to duck in to see the icons and smell the smoke of the prayer candles.
