This In Your Pocket Guide is available as
Summer capital
Pärnu, Estonia’s fifth largest city, is about to bust wide open. Having seen its prime back in the 1920’s and 1930’s, Pärnu is experiencing a renaissance of late. The beach has never been more beautiful, a new promenade allows for lazy strolls, the spas are back and better than ever and the quality of restaurants is top notch. A few new monuments have also been erected since the last guide and we tell you all about them in our sightseeing section.
It just so happens that Pärnu is celebrating 170 years as a resort this year and to help the city celebrate, we’ve put together a little retrospective feature
here. You’ll also find loads of fun and commemorative events planned for the coming months, for a complete overview see the official website
here. Naturally, Pärnu In Your Pocket has covered the most exciting events of the year, including the colourful Hanseatic Days and the beach volleyball competition, guaranteed to be a sweaty and sandy time for the whole family.
But don’t just take our word for it, get out there and discover for yourself why Pärnu is Estonia’s official ‘Summer Capital’. Obviously you’ll need this handy little guide to make the most of your relaxing stay in the city, so grab your sandals, a bottle of water, a camera and hit the streets. You won’t be disappointed.
