I was delighted to find Clayhill's last week, during our annual trip to Tallinn. We had good service outdoors, and the menu and food were several degrees of excellence above what many of the Raekoja Plats cafes offer. I had the smoked salmon salad- -a very fresh and generous piece of salmon served under a metal "hat" with smoking tea leaves, and a mixed greens salad on the side. My dessert was a cupcake with running dark chocolate inside. The pot of Earl Grey tea was the best I've had in a long time.Much of the food I've had in Tallinn cafes or pubs has been salted to death; so I was grateful for Clayhill's more careful seasoning.Nearby customers had good-looking plates, too- -pepper steaks, grilled sandwiches, larger salads. We will definitely return.

Nice interior, but unfortunately marred by poor service, bland food and high prices. Obviously trying to capture the more sophisticated pub goer - but considering Estonians don't use the pub, Finns don't care about food, and ex-pats care for good prices and service, then this place will die a death like all "new idea" ventures in Tallinn. Stick to what works!
