Neikid Resto

Neikid Resto
A little off the beaten track but certainly worth-the-while, Neikid is anything but 'naked' when it comes to the cuisine, atmosphere and service. They call themselves 'Mediterranean' but the menu certainly has heavy international leanings as of late. Come for lunch and take your pick of a few daily specials or join the dinner-crowd for some of their à la carte specialities.

Having visited Tallinn many times over the last twenty years we wanted to find a new place to have our dinner. We heard about Neikid Restaurant and found it after a 15 minutes stroll from old town. Situated in an old wooden house the restaurant was elegantly redecorated. We found the menu very interesting and chose elk, which was tender and delicious. The wine list was well thought of and the wine prices lowest we have seen in Tallinn. Also the young lady serving us was very helpful, spoke excellent english and gave her full attention to us.One of the best places in Tallinn. We will come back

The place itself is nice. But unfortunately that's as far as the good news went for us. First they have a very limited menu. Our experience with the food was average to poor (the escalivada was ok but the duck was inedible - sad to say but probably the worst thing I've had in any restaurant - 5 eur for a few olives was a rip off and my partner said the rack of lamb was very fatty and hard to chew).I've lived in Spain for nearly 10 years. They are supposed to be a Spanish place but there's very little about Spanish food in this place. In fact I wouldn't care if the food was Spanish or not as long as it was good! They only had one Spanish wine by the glass and almost no Spanish wine at all in their wine list! Not much effort in trying to keep wine prices reasonable either.Service was a bit cumbersome but correct in comparison with the food.Considering the isolated location you would expect lower than average prices or significantly better than average food but Neikid so fars fails to provide any of these. For me it is hard to find a reason to go back.

We love the food & service here. Our favourite mid priced restaurant in Tallinn.

Went for lunch a month ago. We did not like it at all. Presentation was nil service was sloppy and they changed one vegetable side dish for boiled potatoes without even asking. When we complained the cook came to the table (by the way not dressed in anything similar to a cook's attire) raised her elbows and simply said they had ran out. It was not even 1 pm. Food overall was of very poor quality and execution. It seemed very amateurish to us. On top of that we had to wait a long time between dishes being the restaurant nearly empty. We paid 9 eur for lunch. Very overpriced for what we got.
