Tucked into the corner of Tallinn's famous Town Hall, this teensy-weensy tavern has both a historic ambience and an enviable location. Better still, it's owned by Olde Hansa so it's guaranteed to be a great locale to grab a soup, pastry or a pint of 'mead'. All drinks are €2, food is €1 and brine pickles in the barrel are FREE!

Newcastle under Lyme 26 October 2011 Superb Value and great food. The staff have a good dry sense of humour espeacially the girl serving the soup on our visit. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the town. The lavatory is something to see as well!

London 20 December 2010 We have visited Tallinn over a number of years, and have seen the Tristan ja Isolde under a number of guises. But the new look Tristan ja Isolde (aka Olde Hansa fast food cafe!) is fabulous. The food, which is a set price of 15eeks, include Elk & Wild Boar Pies, Wild Boar & Mushroom Pies, Vegetable Pies, Apple Pies and Elk Soup - and the drink, a set price of 20eeks, which includes mulled wine, is exceptionally good value and exceptionally high class fayre. Cannot recommend this enough

Hämeenlinna 04 November 2010 This is probably the best restaurant I ever been. Elk soup and game pasty tasted stupendous good and the prices were reasonable. We were there during 31.10-2.11.2010 several times and fell in love with this medieval restaurant.

Stroud 21 August 2010 On the 19th July 2010 we visited Tallin from P&O cruises Oriana. We had a superb lunch, served by a lovely girl, who would not believe the ship's Captain was with us, even when she sat on his knee for a photograph!! I have the photo I could send, if you can give me an email address. Thanks for such a lovely time, Adrian & Gill Weaver
