Schnitzel Haus

Schnitzel Haus
Accordion-heavy pop hits, wooden beer hall tables and vaulted ceilings, come together to form this den of schnitzel. The menu consists mainly of... well - schnitzel and they will certainly have you yodelling. Just in case you're not in the mood for a pounded-flat, breaded and fried meal, they've also got a few other meaty mains to choose from and a 'Radler' on the drink menu was also a plus.

(€8.30)

Not great. The schnitzel was good and respectably large, but the sides were bland. The restaurant's website doesn't include a drinks list, so it was an unpleasant surprise to see the German brews cost nearly 5€, which is some of the most expensive beer you can get in Tallinn - even compared to Town Hall Square. (Local beers were a bit less but still too much for this kind of joint). The applestrudel was at least 2 days old and nuked to molten lava temperatures in a microwave. So all in all, the experience was disappointing. If the prices were 30-40% cheaper, then it might be an "ok" choice, but there are numerous pubs nearby that can provide good food with cheaper drinks and at better atmosphere.

Went to Shnitzel Haus on snowy evening with my husband and three kids under 10 years old. The place was perfect, fireplace, table football that kids played while waiting for food, good athmosphere... My jäger-schnitzel sure was BIG, and my husbands 500g monster-schnitzel... well, it was huge. It wasn't served on a plate, but on a silver tray! Kids liked their kids' schnitzels, and ate really fast and with good appetite, especially when promised that after dinner they can play some more table football. We are definitely going back, kids asked us to go there the very next day!

Some of the Schnitzels are really served with odd sauces :D The Cordon Bleu was absolutely tasty, but I still wonder, if I got the kids portion. Anyway, I would go there any time again to eat one of those delicious desserts.
