This is a wild and primitive area covered in primeval forests that are characteristic of the South Estonian landscape. While hiking through the areas wilderness it’s even possible to tread upon ground, which has not been touched for nearly a millennia. There are also some ancient villages here such as the 1,000-year-old Vellavere community, where you might want to check out the traditional village swing.
