A brand new building on Skwer Stefana Żeromskiego in the centre of the city designed to give residents a glimpse of how their city is to develop over the coming years. The local mayor, or president as they are called in these parts, has been in power here since 1998 and commands the sort of support at local elections that even North Korean leaders might envy. One of the key reasons for this is his determination to make Gdynia compete with its more internationally recognised neighbours by developing a modern port city and the Infobox lays out the plans for that. Featuring a viewing tower which contains a visual guide on what to expect, the building, modelled on a bunch of cargo containers stacked on each other, also contains a cultural info point, a scaled model of the future city and a tidy little cafe offering some excellent home-baked pastries.
