Cyganeria was once a hotbed of political activism.
The student agitators of yesteryear have grown up and the place has been given a new fresh, modern look but this is still a bit of a local legend. Another legendary venue is Desdemona, a magnet for anyone with literary and artistic pretensions.
Head to the bars down by the beach. We don’t list all of them as there are a bunch all offering loud music and beer during the warmer months and they're much of a muchness. Contrast and Pokład are the most famous, most popular and the best of the bunch.

You don’t have to be on a hot date to enjoy Cafe Strych, but it certainly helps. This fisherman’s cottage is both quaint and a good night out thanks to a more laid back clientele and friendly staff. If you want a little more modern search out Srodmiescie which offers a good selection of food to help your date go well.
