Spreepark

Neue Krugallee, Treptow ,   Kreuzberg         more than a year ago
From 1969 to 1991, the Kulturpark was the GDR's only permanent amusement park. After a restart in 1992 as the Spreepark it ran for another decade, but has been abandoned since closing in 2001, with the remaining attractions decaying as nature reclaims the park. In May 2014, the city of the Berlin bought the park back, and all official tours of the park are suspended while they decide what to do with it. Illegal sightseers still risk fines, or being chased out of the park by security guards and their delighted dogs.
