Frühstuck delights

Possibly the very best thing about Berlin is its Sunday all-day breakfast culture. While many places offer excellent set breakfasts during the week, dozens of cafés, bars and restaurants switch to overdrive on Sunday between about 10:00 and 16:00, when you can tuck into huge buffet breakfasts, and basically stuff yourself all day long. Expect to pay €5-9 for unlimited food; drinks are paid for separately. Not only is the selection of food usually good, it’s the atmosphere that makes it special – join ageing Kreuzberg squatters scoffing tofu, Prenzlauer Berg yuppies with their prams washing down their tomato/mozarella salad with café latte, or Friedrichshain students munching on cheap Schrippen (rolls) with cheese. You’ll never want to leave.
