The most normal-looking café on the street is not the setting one would expect of 'beer heaven,' but not many return from that bright light at the end of the tunnel to tell. Patrons certainly don't groom themselves for the bright room: mellowed-with-age punks number among the mixed, laid-back crowd. You can at least read a book whilst drinking or having a piece of cake.

  My g/f and I stopped in here on our most recent trip to Berlin, having heard about lovely cakes and a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service was by far the worst I have ever encountered. The waiting staff were unbelievably rude. The cake was pretty inedible too.
