Started by a native Afghani to remind himself and his friends of what life was like before the 1979 Soviet invasion, this extraordinary little museum is packed with recreations of ordinary Afghan life and culture as well as some exquisite examples of silverware and musical instruments. There’s a traditional tea room here too, taking the place of the usual sterile museum café.
