Housed in the oldest standing half-timbered house in Kaiserslautern (1740) the ‘spinning wheel’ is a comfortable purveyor of typical Pfälzer-specialities. The restaurant blends into a wine bar and cigar lounge replete with obligatory leather chairs. This is the place the tourist office always recommends and it is usually busy.

I eat there often, and love it every time. Sometimes the service can be slow, but the food is always worth it. I really enjoy their local wine too. Neat atmosphere! Great energy. If you are a tourist, I totally recommend it for delicious German food. Extremely pleasant staff, and they speak English too.
